IMac Mini Samsung Galaxy S3 unrooted on Verizon. Was rooted by a friend running Alliance. Accidentally did an update wiping some stuff out, like Alliance no longer showed. Apparently custom ROM could not be fully loaded so I could boot into Alliance.
When you've got a Mac otherwise you're operating Linux, you need to use an analogous program known as Heimdall as an alternative. Now you're able to sideload Android eight.zero onto your telephone. First, obtain the file from Reddit.
Superstrap and SU no longer installed. Root Checker app says that I am no longer rooted. Long story short, phone is still on 4.3. Would like to update to 4.4 but simply cannot. OTA update fails every time.
Attempted to flash the phone back to stock using JOdin3, and then Heimdall on its own. JOdin3 wanted to work, but will not apparently as there is an issue with buffering on large files. OK, try Heimdall. Got further than I did with JOdin, but again, it will not take. Watched a 17 minute long step by step tutorial on YouTube, and followed it verbatim. Apparently others have run into the same issue as myself.
I do not have a Windows machine nor do I really have access aside from a work computer and I cannot load that stuff at work. Can anyone help a total flashing no0b with this so that I can get rid of this annoying as all get out constant reminder that there is an update? Twice now I have accidentally accepted the attempt to update the software, and twice it has been at the most inopportune times. IMac Mini Samsung Galaxy S3 unrooted on Verizon. Confirmed – It’s CORRUPTED ? I’m pc/linux user with new blank hdd on iMac and no install media. Downloaded twice, same result. With the size of only 1.9GB, something is missing for shure (as older versions are 4GB+). Using latest TransMac on PC to create bootable USB immediately says “This disk immage may be damaged or of an unsupported format”.
Other DMF files are transfered fine with TransMac, but this one fails. Does exist some online OS loader on mac?
Something like linux distros with small ISO footprint, and online installation?. chris December 20, 2017 @ 3:00 PM.
